46th Street & 6th Avenue

Taken one block south of Murdoch's News Corporation headquarters, this shot captures the lunch on 6th Avenue and 46th Street, otherwise known as "Little Brazil Street." "Little Brazil" was dedicated in 1996 in honor of the Brazilian community that flourished here between 5th and 7th Avenue on 45h and 46th Streets. Much of that community is gone, forced out by the massive influx in commercial real estate lining 6th Avenue after the construction of the Rockefeller Center Expansion in the 1960s and 70s. Nevertheless, every August, the city plays host to Brazilian Day, held along 6th Avenue in honor of Little Brazil.
